We’re really excited to announce that Fiona’s book for parents, ‘I Wish I’d Known: Young People, Drugs and Decisions’ has received a Gold Medal in the Nautilus Book Awards 2022, in the category Parenting and Family.
The Nautilus Awards’ tagline is ‘Better Books for a Better World’ and over the past 21 years, this unique US book awards programme has continued to gain prestige with authors and publishers around the world as it seeks, recognizes, honours, celebrates and promotes books that inspire and connect our lives as individuals, families, communities, and global citizens. Nautilus Book Awards winners are highly esteemed authors and publishers from across the US, and from over 20 nations around the world. Other notable Nautilus Book Award winning authors include Barbara Kingsolver, Louise Erdrich, Deepak Chopra, M.D., Eckhart Tolle, Desmond Tutu, and the Dalai Lama.
The award is an enormous honour – and unexpected, because the book hadn’t been adapted for the US audience or context. We hope it will raise awareness of this book with many more parents and families on both sides of the Atlantic, and enable them to help their children to make safer choices about drugs.
