How to support us

Become a Friend of the Foundation

and make a regular donation.

Friends of the Foundation are individuals who are committed to our vision of saving young lives, and join us in our work by making a regular contribution, whether small or large. They are key to the continuing work of the DSM Foundation. Regular donations help us to make solid plans and commitments, with confidence that these will be funded, and this planned growth is crucial to enabling us to meet the demands for us to reach more young people.

In return we send our new Friends a copy of Mark Wheeller’s play about Dan – ‘I Love You, Mum – I Promise I Won’t Die’. We also give Friends priority access to our community events and invite them to our annual thank you tea, to meet our Trustees and team, so we can thank them in person. We send regular updates about our work through our newsletters so they can see the difference their financial support is making.

If you’d like to become a Friend of the Foundation, please fill in this form and return it to admin@dsmfoundation.org.uk.

Give direct from your salary

and make a regular tax-free donation via Payroll Giving.

If you’re an employee, payroll giving allows you to support us via your pay.  The donation comes out of your gross pay meaning the tax you would have paid on your donation comes to us.

A £10 donation to us only costs you: £8 if you pay basic tax (20%);  £6 if you pay higher rate tax (40%); or £5.50 if you pay the 45% rate.

Contact your Payroll department to set up a payroll gift.  If your employer doesn’t have a scheme set up but they want to know more, they can contact a Payroll Giving Agency approved by HMRC to set up a scheme – see https://www.gov.uk/payroll-giving for further information.

By giving regularly in this way you would also become a Friend of the Foundation – the very best of people!

Raise money through a sponsored challenge/event

Run a (half!) marathon, swim the Serpentine, knit scarves, bake cakes etc.

There are lots of ways to raise awareness and raise funds for the foundation – see our Fundraising tips.

Please contact us at admin@dsmfoundation.org.uk

Fundraise at work or school

Set sponsored challenges for you and your colleagues/class; speak to your employee about match funding; nominate us for your school/organisation’s charity of the year.  See Fundraising tips for further ideas.

We can set up a Virgin Money Giving corporate fundraising hub for your organisation via our account.

Please contact admin@dsmfoundation.org.uk for further information.
