Team Dan and Trustees have had our first chance to see the film of #iloveyoumumplay produced by TiE It Up Theatre – a brand new production, to add to the incredible production so successfully toured live by Wizard Theatre (originally created by StopWatch Theatre). This is another amazing experience – heartwarming and heartbreaking by turn – and although it won’t be able to be performed live for a while yet, it benefits hugely from being so brilliantly filmed, taking full advantage of all that lighting, sound and camera angles can do to maximise the excellent acting of the committed young cast, and the staging of the production. And it adds to the play itself a little bit of real Tim and Fiona talking about Dan just before, and again just after the play, as well as a little bit of real Dan right at the end too.
This will be off out to schools in Scotland and London/SE in the Spring term on virtual Theatre in Education tours, and has an important journey ahead of it beyond that, spreading those sycamore seeds of Dan’s story, and growing good things from this very bad thing.
