DSM Foundation’s drug education work in Moray, Scotland continues to grow

The DSM Foundation is delighted to be working with Moray Council/the Whole Family Wellbeing Fund to deliver our evidence-based, multi-component drug education programme in all eight of the local authority’s secondary schools and its service for students with special educational and behavioural needs. The report for the 2024-25 academic year can be found at Moray End of Year Report – June 2025

The work is an extension of a pilot run in 2023-24 in three of the area’s secondary schools, and involves all nine settings receiving a Theatre In Education performance of the play ‘I Love You, Mum – I Promise I Won’t Die’ which tells Dan’s story, student workshops, staff training, a session for parents/caregivers, and in-school delivery of the DSM Foundation’s resources for Personal and Social Education (PSE). In Moray in 2024-25, over 1,350 students saw the play and its accompanying workshop, over 3,000 students ranging from S1 to S6 had a workshop from one of the DSM Foundation’s experienced and knowledgeable drug educators, nearly 200 staff members received a training session, and five workshops/webinars were delivered for parents and caregivers. Feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, and the breadth and depth of provision will continue into the next academic year, thanks to a further funding agreement from Moray Council/the Whole Family Wellbeing Fund.
