A year after Covid-19 hijacked our original conference plans, and with restrictions finally being lifted, we’re really pleased to be able to confirm a new date for the third National Drugs and Alcohol Education Conference, organised jointly by the DSM Foundation, The Alcohol Education Trust and the London Drug and Alcohol Policy Forum.
After a long year of everything taking place virtually, we’re really excited to be able to plan an in-person, Covid-safe event at the beautiful Guildhall in the City of London, with all the benefits of face-to-face interaction that we’ve all missed so much, even if it’s still not quite back to the old days of mingling and jostling we used to love.
This is a day for professionals to hear from leading experts on the latest research on drug and alcohol education and prevention, attend a choice of workshops on evidence-based programmes, and receive planning & evaluation advice and resources for effective PSHE.
For schools, this is a great opportunity to make sure you are fully confident, prepared and resourced to teach effective alcohol and drug education to students under the new mandatory Health Education framework.
For all teachers, school and college staff, and for any professionals working with young people, it’s a chance to make sure staff are equipped with the best resources and training to ensure an understanding of the context and scale of issues young people currently face.
