Young people’s advice to peers, parents and teachers – new materials now available!

We are delighted to be able to shine a spotlight on some fantastic materials, highlighting what young people say they want from drug education as well as the advice they would give their friends about drugs and decisions.

These posters are one of the outcomes from the evaluation of our drugs education programme under Phase 2 funding from the National Institute for Health and Care Research’s Innovation Fund to Reduce Demand for Illicit Substances. The materials – two each for parents and carers, teachers, and peers – reflect the messages young people involved in evaluation of our multi-component programme want to convey in an eye catching way, and were produced in conjunction with the University of Middlesex. They include advice to friends such as the importance of taking time to make decisions, prompts to caregivers around showing empathy and understanding, and a plea to school and college staff to provide more drug education in a non-judgemental way.
