Training and development
What will I gain from being a DSMF YA?
- Being a YA builds confidence, communication skills and teamwork.
- It improves understanding of the effects and risks of drugs and skills in managing decisions more safely.
- Being a YA enables you to make a difference for other young people in your school and in the wider work of DSMF.
As well as undertaking the training provided, YAs must be:
- Enthusiastic and energetic.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Highly motivated to support other young people to make safe choices about alcohol and drugs.
YAs must also have:
- Good communication skills.
- A desire to learn and develop new skills.
- The ability to work well individually and as part of a team.
All of these things will be covered in the DSMF YA programme!
